Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Rocky elevation on the Jihlava River bank. The river channel and banks are formed of granulite and granulitic gneiss. These rocks consist mainly of quartz, potessium feldspar, plagioclase, garnet and biotite (of retrograde origin). Moreover, some inclusions of migmatitic gneiss and dark serpentinite can be found. The rocks were affected by glacial processes, some frost-riven cliffs and blocky fields have been formed. This locality belongs to the Nature Park "Střední Pojihlaví - the Central Jihlava River Area".
